Create a crisis strategy—an “in case of emergency” plan to file for safe keeping.


Life is full of stressors—conflict with friends, drama in relationships, deadlines at school or challenges with parents, for example. It only makes sense to make a list of your go-to people and safe places for moments when it all seems too much. Consider your resources—parents, teachers, counselors, health care providers, just to start. Add to your list the Kids Help Phone, a 24-hour, confidential and non-judgmental national support line for young people in Canada: 1-800-668-6868. Identify your people. Never be shy to ask for help.
