Growing up in the small community of Hay River, Northwest Territories, Tunchai Redvers experienced loneliness and isolation first-hand. The personal experience drove her and her brother, Kelvin Redvers, to found We Matter, a non-profit whose multimedia campaign shares messages of hope and support with other Indigenous youth. Now a Masters student at Wilfrid Laurier University, Tunchai still makes time to put action behind her passion for Indigenous youth empowerment and community development. She sees a stronger Canada through striking mutual understanding among our country’s people: “My Canada 150 is one of respect and partnership. I pledge to support the national reconciliation of indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians.” What will your pledge be? Take the pledge today.
