It takes a village to raise a child — a village made up of families who go above, beyond, and way out of the way to make the world a better place. WE wants to recognize and celebrate the Canadian change-makers who lift our communities and inspire us.

Nominations are now open for the WE Families awards. Enter your own family, or tell us about another that is front and centre — or behind the scenes — making change and leading the way.

We are proud to work with Canadian Living on this inspiring initiative. It’s our thirteenth annual collaboration, the first we’ve dedicated exclusively to families. The 2017 WE Families awards presented by Canadian Living will honour Canadian families of all shapes and sizes who are working to build our future. Read the terms and conditions for more information.

We welcome nominations in the following categories:

We’re eager to hear about parents and kids who have rallied to a cause. Tell us how and why you — or your nominees — are inspiring change in your neighbourhood and community at large. Winners of this award receive a $1,000 donation to a registered charity of their choice, and a commemorative award.

Tell us about a family — maybe your own — that has demonstrated a passion for making Canada a better place
by taking action in any of the four Canada 150 theme areas: diversity and inclusion, reconciliation of
indigenous and non-indigenous peoples, youth empowerment and the environment. Winners in this category will win a $1,000 donation to a registered Canadian charity of their choice, and a commemorative award.

In this category, we will celebrate a family that is making a world of difference for families in one of our
WE Villages. We’re looking for families who have raised awareness about global issues while championing
resources to serve one of our pillars of impact. The winners of this award will win a ME to WE Families
trip to a WE Village of their choice!

All winners will have their story shared in Canadian Living, WE.org and anywhere else we can!
