WE Bake for Change

Get your family, neighbors and friends together to whip up a batch of something unforgettable.

The WE Bake for Change campaign gives you everything you need to know to hold an epic bake sale to fundraise for WE Villages sustainable international development projects. The goal of WE Villages is to work with communities to lift themselves out of poverty and never have to rely on charity again. We do this through five Pillars of Impact.

Select which issue and Pillar of Impact you’re taking action for and sign up for the WE Bake for Change campaign to get access to helpful resources and tips.

Here are our top tips to get you started:

Pick a date and location for your bake sale.

Consider aligning it with a community event, sports tournament or school event.

Divide tasks among family members.

You will need bakers, sellers, poster makers and a cleaning crew.

On promotional posters, turn up the heat on the issues your bake sale is tackling.

Share facts and explain why your cause matters. Also, remember to share the time, day and location of the event.

Plan for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free or health-conscious options if possible.
Organize a baking party.

If you have a space big enough to bring everyone together. You’ll be making memories while you bake. Assign family members to do food prep, measuring, mixing, baking and packaging so you aren’t all trying to use the oven at the same time.

Assign one person to handle the money.

Remember to have coins to provide change.

If treats aren’t individually packaged, make sure you have tongs or spatulas

to pick up cookies and squares, and have napkins on hand for when you serve people.

Mark a price (or donation suggestion) for each treat.

Goodies with lots of decorations can fetch as much as $5. Remind people what cause you’re supporting.

Make sure all helpers get to try some of
the treats.

This will help everyone describe the different options and make recommendations.

Your fundraising efforts for WE Bake For Change give families in developing communities the ingredients they need to create a better life for themselves. All proceeds go to community-led development projects through WE Villages.
